On another Galaxy we had the sudden lack of power and black smoke meant a new turbo - whilst on holiday and cost around a grand. Hope yours isn't that.

Hi there

Firstly why so many posts of the same topic? the solenoid valves are you meaning the ones in an auto gearbox? as it sounds like you have a fuel/air charge problem.

Also can you put your vehicle details into your signiture that will save you typing them in everytime you post.

I'm sure one of the moderators will remove the duplicate posts for you. :)

Sounds like the classic sticky vanes problem, as you say switching off then on again 'fixes' it.

There are plenty topics on the sticky vanes problem, your turbo probably just needs a clean which can be done for about

ANU (90PS) aren't fitted with a VNT turbo - it is (well, should have) the older FGT with wastegate type so there are no vanes to stick. Sounds as if you have either a pressure/vacuum leak with one of the pipes in the boost control circuit or an electrical fault with the wiring to the boost control solenoid.

Have some more info not sure if this will help have just driven back from devon caravan in tow if the car is in 5th or 6th

running a steady 2000rpm approx 60/65mph whilst under constant load had little issue if I had to slow easing off pedal the power would go until the ignition of and on again this seemed to be fairly consistant any thoughts appreciated.

I do on occasion have some smoke but more when chuggung in traffic and then accelerating.
